Salt Lake City Roofing FAQs

Can you handle ice dam damage along the Wasatch Front?

Yes - ice dams are Utah's silent roof killer. We repair the damage and rebuild eaves with proper ice-and-water shield and ventilation so it doesn't return.

How much does a new roof cost in Salt Lake City?

Most Wasatch Front replacements run $10,000-$30,000+ depending on size, pitch, and snow-load requirements.

Do you serve Park City and the mountain communities?

Yes - from the Salt Lake valley up through Park City, including steep-pitch and metal systems built for heavy snow country.

East bench windstorm took shingles off half my street - why some houses and not others?

Wind exposure and installation quality. Bench homes from Bountiful to Draper face canyon winds that exceed shingle ratings when seals have aged. Six-nail installation and hand-sealed windward edges are what keep bench roofs on - ask specifically for both when replacing.

How much snow can a roof in Sandy or Draper actually hold?

Modern code-built roofs handle normal Wasatch Front snow years fine - trouble comes from drift loading against walls and from ice dams, not total depth. If you see new drywall cracks or doors sticking after heavy snow, get a structural look promptly.

Swamp cooler is getting removed - what happens to the big hole in the roof?

Proper abandonment means removing the curb, sistering framing, decking the opening, and weaving in matching shingles - not dropping a cap over it. Half the mystery leaks we find in older Salt Lake and Millcreek homes trace to badly capped cooler openings.

Proudly serving Salt Lake County and the Salt Lake City community

Trophy Exteriors is part of the fabric of Salt Lake City. We roof homes for families near East High School, Highland High School and Skyline High School, and you'll see our crews around town during ski season in the Cottonwood Canyons, the Utah State Fair, and the Days of '47 celebration. Hiring a local roofer means hiring neighbors who know Salt Lake City — its neighborhoods, its weather, and how people here expect to be treated.
